So my tank has developed a strange problem. There is a film on the water in the display. I tried to scoop it out during a water change with no luck. Any suggestions?

more water movement at the surface will cure that problem. Either use a power head or your return line to stir the surface and all should be good.

Do you have a surface skimmer that drains to a sump??
