I saw that. I ride, but clearly the bikers were being douchebags, which unfortunately caused the initial bump to the bike, which then unfortunately cause the gang of bikes to get out of control which unfortunately scared the suv driver and his young family, unfortunately enough to cause him to react and step on the gas to get out of there.... with unfortunate consequences.

Lesson learned... don't ride like a douche.

I have seen the video and the biker was at fault in my opinion. If you break check a big SUV while your friends are weaving all around traffic then the driver might not be able to stop. Driver stopped after bumping the biker. Driver took off after the other bikers started beating the SUV and slashing tires.

Sucks that the biker got hurt but it was his own fault for being an idiot on the road. Good thing his wife can sign up for obamacare and pass the medical bills to the taxpayer.

I ride. The bikers in the video were completely at fault. They caused the entire event. When we ride as a group, we have road guards and a defined route. We take only one lane, usually the right. This allows others to pass on the left if they need or want to.
The way these punks were riding was stupid. I would never brake check an SUV! If I am being tailgated at 65 -70 MPH, I may throw a bolt over my shoulder to get you to back off, but I wont brake check you. That is stupid.
Those guys were riding and acting like idiots. Hope they are caught and serve jail time.

I agree with everyone here, the riders were acting like idiots. I ride, well used to ride street bikes until my accident with a SUV.

I feel bad for the driver because now he is paralyzed because these fools were acting like thugs. I saw a justice for blah (insert riders name here) blah page on Facebook. I think the majority of people would respond the same if it happened to them.

Ouch. That had to of hurt. Any details of your accident?

The driver ended up with stitches from the fight. It is the biker that ended up paralyzed.

That sucks for the rider. Shouldn't even if ever happened.

In my accident, a bus was trying to exit the freeway late from the number 2 lane and SUV stopped to let the bus exit. There was a broken down Cadillac in the emergency lane, with no where to go I hit the SUV.

I ride also, and yes... it's one of those bikes... I don't want to point fingers here and there, but acknowledge road rage as a whole. It always starts as some one going to slow, failing to use a signal, texting, or a countless number of stupid things that people do while driving. It could involve any type of vehicle from a motorcycle to an 18 wheeler.

Simply put, I could have been driving that day. Not in NY, but under those same circumstances here in Houston. What would I do If someone went crazy on me behind the wheel? How would I react if someone tried to box me in and break out my windows?

I ride my Harley through Houston traffic weekly. I have cages cut me off and drive like idiots. I know it happens and I ride on the offense. If it happens 99.99999% of the time the car driver didn't see me. I simply move out of the way and and keep my guard up. There is absolutely NOTHING I can do but proceed on. As a car driver, If a gang of bikers surround me and my family because I made an innocent mistake and start blocking me in, slashing my tires, and bashing out my windows I WILL run them over to get away. If for some reason I can't get away I WILL protect myself and my family with my conceal carry firearm. I saw this video the other day and it made me realize I need to carry more magazines of ammo in my console. These thugs would be full of lead in 1/2 a second.

Very smart man it's not worth it. You have a good mentality.

Man you think it's easy to shoot someone. You will lose your shirt over it. Even if you are not charged in criminal court you will pay up the azz in the civil court. Dealing with corporate sharks all day long oh I mean lawyers.

Here's my Road Glide. I'm definitely up for a group ride some time. The weather is finally starting to agree with my desire to ride. I also have a Triumph Tiger 800 XC, but I don't have any pictures of it.

i have to agree with everyone that this occurence was useless. i enjoy the houston freeways during the peak times and simply can not think of another moment to be on the freeway then during traffic... ok, i lie but i will agree that if i even saw someone coming to my car to cause harm, my car is replacable with only adding parts, mainly human parts if they decided to go all 'madmax' on me.

houston's traffic is only getting worse. i love when the bikes decide that they 'have' to bypass all traffic laws and drive in between cars during traffic jams.

then again, all the people texting, youtubing, talking, reading, eating, highlighting, gazing or even all of the before mentioned, you dont make it any easier.
