I was walking through the MSC with some friends and some lady was handing out flyers the size of a postcard announcing their new fish. So I asked the lady if they need help maintaining it and to my surprise, she said "yes we do." So I got her email address and send her a short simple email detailing my experience. Hope fully ill hear back from her soon. I think it will be fun to work on a tank that a lot of people get to look at. I've come to conclude the tank is just a FOWLR tank. It would be better if it had some coral in there, IMO.

I haven't heard back from the lady yet. Might send her another email today but I decided to site in front of the tank since it is so hot a humid out today and the comments I keep hearing from people is, I expected more. I think they would be satisfied if there were some trumpet, zoas, or generally something that can grow to be big and bright.

I found the lady, she got my email and should be making a decision soon. The kid that was doing maintenance on the tank showed me the ins and outs of everything that goes on. The lady doesn't buy reef safe live stock so the tank in the msc and the three they have in their personal building are just rocks. Kinda disappointing since they have $100,000 budget. They are also only using RO water so there's the source of the phosphates. The kid said he had to convince the lady they needed a GFO reactor. Lady didn't know what that even was. Idk, the lady is only somewhat educated but it doesn't sound like she is super passionate about "reefing". any who here are some pictures from my private tour.

Euphyllia of any kind would be pretty cool in the big tank. Would provide lots of motion. But if she is buying angles/butterfly fish then those would be out.

Might also try some various softies, tyree toadstool, gsp, xenia are all slightly noxious so some non-reef safe fish will still leave alone. If they eat them then it isn't a big loss considering :) That's the experimentation route I am taking on my FOWLR tank to see what corals are left alone.

That lady. If I get the job ill try to find out why she doesn't want coral, then try to convince her.

I'm taking my daughter back on Sunday, so maybe I'll stop and take a look. She is a biology major, and maybe she can get involved too.

Maybe, it does not seem that they are looking for much help.

Is she single? :p haha I'm kidding. But It would be nice to meet another student who is passionate about reefing.

LOL! She has a boyfriend, but he graduated last year and is in Fort Worth in a masters program. I would not say she is passionate about it, but she would like to have a tank in her room, but is settling for a beta fish for now. I might think about setting her up a small tank at her new townhouse though. She mostly likes to pick out stuff for me to buy and collect at Galveston with her brothers, but I know she would like to learn more.

I've found my old 3g JBJ was an ideal tank for college. Simple to manage, water changes are easy.
