Anyone used them? They are in Dallas and have a couple things I haven't been able to find locally. Thanks!

i ordered about 100#s of LR from them and a protein skimmer... i was driving through dallas on a sunday night about 10pm and the guy actually met me on the freeway with my 100#s of Rock (Free Shipping!). the rock was beautiful... and his customer service was great too, thats why i got my skimmer from him. i have never ordered livestock from him though...

hope that helped. let me know how it goes

I look at the web site, but have never ordered from them. They definitely do carry fish that you never see in stores, though. I would, however, research any fish that you find before you buy it. Many of them may not be carried in the local stores for very good reasons (shipping, dietary requirement, difficulty to keep, aggression,...etc.). I am also a little suspect of some of their prices. Even the fish that are not so rare are relatively expensive, especially for an online vendor.

Gee, I never would have thought about researching a fish I wanted to buy. Thanks for the advice, Jim! :D

Let he/she among us who has never made an impulse livestock purchase cast the first stone.

Let me clarify. First of all I have never bought a "pet". fish included, without researching them first. Not that I haven't ever bought a pet I "knew" I probably shouldn't.

Also, I asked who knew about the vendor. I did not ask to be lectured on research.

Finally I was only teasing Jim, but the thought applies. You should not assume someone hasn't done their homework without first asking whether they have.

I was not trying to lecture. I was just pointing out that although these may seem like the same fish you see in the store, there are several hybrids that they carry, along with similar species that may have very different requirements or attitudes. I was also talking to anyone that ventures to that site, and not just the original poster.

I like visiting their site, but I doubt that I would ever buy anything through them because their prices are higher than the LFSs, on items that they carry in common. They are also higher that most other online vendors. Finally, they have a tendency to have little sayings like contact for more information rather than posting a price or out of stock lable.

They do have some great pictures, though...although they are copyright protected and you cannot link to them.

Fair enough. I was looking into them because of that darn green bubble you insisted on having in your tank. They had one, and I was thinking about picking it up for Karen's birthday. I have not been able to find one locally and have not been able to find an lfs that can order it specifically for me.

I was also looking into a pair of tiger jawfish that I haven't been able to find locally. I don't think there's any chance I've confused them with any other fish or variety.

Do you have a Dremel tool at all? I have been thinking about fragging that coral, and maybe we could work a deal. I just need to find a Dremel that I can borrow from someone.

I've got a dremmel. I can bring it to the meeting if your willing to wait and frag it infront of the class.

I would if I could, but unfortunately I will not be able to be at the meeting myself. I would love to do it for the "class" but I will be out of town that weekend for Mother's Day and a Birthday and will not be able to come to the meeting. I really wanted to be there, and this would have been a great coral to frag with a Dremel for the meeting.

I would need a cutting bit, preferably the triangular spiral cutting bit. We would have to figure the logistics of it though. I would want to do the fragging at my place so that I could put my piece directly back in the tank. I think it woudl be too much stress on it if I bagged it, brought it to your place, fragged it, and bagged my piece for the return trip. Maybe I will go out and buy myself a Dremel at Sears on Friday (payday). I think that that will be a lot easier.

I'm pretty sure I could convince Karen to come to your place for a piece of that coral. I'll see if she has that bit. Just let me know the logistics. I'll let you know later this evening if she has the right bit.

If you are willing to make the trip down, we could do it either tomorrow evening or friday evening...whichever is better for you.

The bit is not that expensive....~$6.00 or so at Sears. If you don't have one, it is a good investment for fragging. Actually, any of the cutting bits are worth having for fragging. I just prefer the triangular spiral cutting bit myself.

Do you still have my phone number? If so, give me a call tonight.

K & K ~

If you have time, feel free to swing by here. You can come see your seahorses (LOL, although I think you'll be hard-pressed to figure out which adults came from your house). The lone surviving baby is now almost as large as an adult! Two of the males should be birthing tonight or tomorrow. I also have a handful of chaetomorphia if you are still looking for some.

Sounds good. Jim, I'm pretty sure I can find your number. Tonight we'll be out. Got a call from someone I haven't seen in 17 years and we're hooking up for dinner. Should be interesting. If you're interested I could bring you that clown. It's up to you.

Sherri, I'll see about swinging by. I'd love to see the horses.

Since Karen has volunteered my services and my tool LOL I guess my question is: What the heck is a triangle drill thingy? I might have one, maybe not. I have round cutting disks :D

Now we need to get the other Karen to change her screenname to "KarenA".

The Triangle Spiral Cutter is a pointy cutting drill rather than a cutting disk. I find that it works better on stoney stuff. The cutting disk should still work, though.

Bringing the small clown would be great. Did you say that they were $20? That should be fine. Maybe we could work a partial trade for the frag, or something like that.
