You all should see this lawnmower blenny at the Petco near me.
It's belly looks like it is litterally about to pop.

They have a reef tank at this petco and I guess this little guy just has tons of algae to eat in there.

It looks so fat, it looks painful, yet he just kept eating....

oh, forgot to mention.
This petco actually has REAL ocean water for sale.
That is a suprise to me.
Of course, 9.99 for 5 gallons, I'll stick with mixing my own.

I use the real ocean water on my nano for water changes. Yes, it is expensive, but it is better than synthetic IMO. I have been using it for about a month now and have seen good results thus far. The people on nano-reef that use it have tested it with good results as well. It is distributed by the catalina water company in Cali, and comes from the pacific. I know a lot of LFS on the Cali coast have the watter pumped into their stores to sell to customers so I trust it.

me too

I used the 'Real Ocean Water' too. I like it; just can't keep buying it cuz of the cost. But I used it when I needed to do a huge water change and thought if real ocean water didn't help....well, not much else would. But everything seemed to go..."Aaaahhhh" when I used it. Of course, it could have just been the huge water change, or perhaps a little of both. Who knows....

But I do notice the salinity of the water is not the same in every box, and does not usually match my reef. Mine is at 1.024-1.025, and the ocean water is usually between 1.021 to 1.023. But the instructions on the box do tell you that it could vary. So you need to measure the salinity of each box, and may need to adjust if needed. I also noticed the 5 gallons is just an estimate. Usually it's more than that. One of the boxes was as much as 7 gal. Still, it's nice to have saltwater (real ocean water at that) pretty much ready to go, and all you have to do usually is aerate and adjust the temperature to match your tank.

Now, I probably will keep a box around for emergencies or something, since the ocean water is convenient....just wish it didn't hurt the pocketbook so much.
