Stop being politically correct and change the banner to MERRY CHRISTMAS instead of happy holidays.

What holiday are you wishing me to be happy about? Because I do believe that those background Christmas lights you are using are just for Christmas and not any other holiday you are eluding to.

Also, what other holiday does one use a decorated tree, lights on the house, presents, Santa, Christmas decorations in general other than Christmas?

If you use anything related to Christmas, then it should be Merry Christmas right?

I saw that the thread on the Christmas Party was entitled Christmas Party until the other main page banner went up. Then it became a holiday party.

I really really hate Political Correctness.

+1, I decided not to show for the party because they changed it.

There is a place down the street from me selling Christmas trees with a 25 ft Santa out front displaying a banner that says HAPPY HOLIDAYS. I made the same point to them and asked why they didn't say MERRY CHRISTMAS. They said they didn't want to offend people so I felt the overwhelming urge to point out that by doing so they were offending the only demographic to which they were marketing. It seemed counterproductive to me.

Same here, we were looking to go as things opened up, but decided against it when the banner was put up calling it a holiday party.

Now I see the title of the original thread has been changed to reflect holiday party, though I be everything at the party was in a Christmas theme.

Just doesn't make sense to me.

What's funny to me is that "Happy Holidays" didn't become an offensive statement until this whole PC thing was started.

I think Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas are the same thing in my opinion. I personally say happy holidays because I want people to be happy no matter what holiday they celebrate. The world has enough hate as it is.

Americans are too worried about what other people are doing these days. We are very good about pressing our views and beliefs on everyone else. When we should really be worried about living our lives to the fullest and hurting as few people as possible along the way.

I don't have a problem with Happy Holidays. However, like Fire said, if the banner consists of a "Christmas" theme...then it should say "Merry Christmas."

Interesting... I've always referred to it as the holiday party... Are you sure the thread changed or the banner? And for that matter which thread :D

I'm am so freaking happy to be going on vacation....

I need to go drink some whiskey and come back on here with the response that is being held back by the corporate brain washing that has done its best to ensure I'm 120% PC

Yup, and I was gonna pay my dues there... I already talked to John about it but thanks for bringing it up.

And that shows the depth of your conviction for something you believe in... I see you stayed home too, thanks for backing up me and Mike!

hold on... I must have missed something... What's wrong with saying Merry xmas again ?

Kinda my point Oliver. If you say Merry Christmas it offends people and that matters but if you change it to Happy Holidays and offend a Christian that doesn't matter.

The popular thing these days is to offend a Christian and say it was in the name of being politically correct, Im not going to put up with it no matter how unpopular it makes me. Welcome to the new america (yes, I spelled it with a little A on purpose) where being PC means ALWAYS having to say you're sorry. Well I'm not sorry.
