Was looking at the msn front page and lady nutritionist says
amino acid L-tryptophan can only can make you sleepy if you
eat on a empty stomach, Ok how many people wait to eat
until the big turkey dinner, hmmm I'd say about all
and how many people will eat left over turkey sandwiches
when hungry again on a empty stomach, hmmmm I'd
say about all

Wow, that's lot of turkey...46 lbs is the amount required to eat enough tryptophan to make you sleepy.

It's not the turkey-L-tryptophan may be present but being an RN/BSN that recently talked to a RN BSN nutritionist. It is the hi carb extras we eat along with the turkey that puts us in the sugar coma.(candied yams, mashed potatoes, bread stuffing, gravy and pumpkin/pecan pie)
The turkey protein by itself is good for us, low fat and pure muscle supporting protein but.............. who in there right mind is going to eat plain turkey and the salad. Plus, the quaitity of food that we all eat is a factor too.
I would insert a emotion here but don't see the list.
My fish aren't sleepy.
