How do I upload an Excel file to thhe website? When I try to upload to it says invalid file.

I do not have that configured as an allowed file type. It's best to use something like Google Apps and then you imbed it into a post as a frame.
You will not need to recreate it. You can use google apps to import the spreadsheet content.
