I decided to change out my Ehiem heater for the titanium heater. I was reading the instruction (go figure) and read where this item should be placed in a high flow area hung to the side of the glass with the sensor about 4in away. It further stated that they should not be placed on the substrate (which i guess is the gravel or sand).

My dilema is that I wanted to place this in my sump, where i have room.

Does anyone have knowledge of this or has this type of heater and has it laying flat in your sump.

LMK please. BTW, I added a link to show you which one it is, accept mine is a 300W.

In my opinion, a heater should be replaced every 2-3 years unless it's hooked up to a controller.

If you think about how much we pay for the fish & corals [in thousands] versus a $30 heater. The cost is so minimal.

Heaters could be a pain in the rear. Your best option is to get a controller to get an accurate temp reading of the tank. An RKL cost around $113 and can control your lights, heater, fan, and so much more.

agreed, but this is a brand new heater. And i want to save up for an APEX Lite since it provides alot better service.

So I didnt use it or even take it out of the box. Since i cant post under the for sale section. I am selling it for what i paid for. Hit me up. Sticker say $49.

Wow! You don't even come up with your own opinion on a nice heater. I have one and it works great. It's accurate and very effective in keeping my tank temperature stable. If you are going to sell u might as well try it and come up with your own opinion and use a thermometer to see if it's accurate. Because used is used. Good luck

Dave,

Well the only real issue is that it can not lay it on the floor or bottom of my sump. i would hate to do it anyway and something screw up. I dont have space in my sump to have it hang or place going up and down as the instructions require. I dont want it in the main display.

so what not increase my chances of selling it BNIB then used.
