How often and how much water changes should I do to my 36g bowfront.

I just have the tank, the skimmer hanging on the back of it.

Because of the underachieving skimmer/filtering/return pump that came with my 29 gallon biocube, I have to do a 10% water change at least once a week. I just look at the water and it looks like it's just begging for a change.

So I would say the frequency depends on how well your filtration system and circulation is working. But i'm a newb to this. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, so if you say 20-30% monthly does that mean once a month you change it or like 5% weekly?

either way is fine. all at once or little bits at a time. i usually do 5-10 gallons every 3-4 weeks on my 40br. but i'd say i was under stocked

So I'm gonna do a water change soon, anybody have a recommendation on the best salt for my reef tank?

I use reef crystals. If you don't have a high coral demand, any salt will do.

Ok, for now ill just use instant ocean, but as I get more coral ill get the good stuff.
