I setup my new nano about 5 weeks ago. It is the JBJ 28 with compact flourescents. The only thing I did was put chaeto in one of the chambers in the back with some diy led on opposite timer, and add a nano koralia. Let me know what you think?

The water in the tank has not become crystal clear (it still has either particles or bubbles in it, and I can't really tell which). Does anyone have any suggestions on clearing this up?

I took the water to fish gallery where they did a full test, and everything looked good.

Thanks.

Try putting a sponge filter in the drain section as well as some carbon. If you use a sponge just clean it out every few days.

It may be your sand. If you have real fine sand, it does get kicked up by the water pump.

I used to have that problem and I had to switch to a little coarser sand.

It also takes a little while for a film to build up and bind the grains of sand together and keep them down.

thanks

I cleaned out the sponge, and noticed that it was not sitting in correctly, so the water was coming over the side. There is an original bag of carbon in there (5 weeks now). How often do you change the carbon?

Hopefully it will be better tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!
