Over the course of the last two months, two of the polyps of my large candy cane appear to be disconnected from the skeleton of the coral and swell up like baloons. I have an arrow in the picture below to show what I'm talking about.
The thing is now huge... larger than a softball, but smaller than a soccer ball. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it. Here's a shot I took last night before I left the office:
Has anyone had this happen to them? Did the coral die or was it just part of its individual appearance? Do I have anything to be concerned about?
PS - Most everything else in the tank is quite happy and extending nicely during the day, and I feed DT's three times a week.
