Just checkin around before I make any solid decisions. I see conflicting reviews all over the net so I'd like to hear from our local folk. I ask that you state actual experiences and not any uncomfirmed or unsure incidents.

Cheers,
Chris

I have state farm and had many great experiences

first someone an uninsured motorist hit my wifes car from behind, she was fine but the car had around 3 thousand worth of repairs. We paid our deductable of 500 bucks and it got fixed, they sued the lady for the repairs and got their money then they paid us back our deductable.

USAA, but you have to be in the military or be a dependent. the prices are ok. they are great insurance though. also, once with USAA, you can get savings accounts, mutual funds, etc.

Some one had hit my wifes car in a parking lot & ran off about $1500.00 worth of damage. Our insurance sent us a check for the amount of the damage without any questions. Two days before we received the check someone else hit the same spot & their insurance Allstate paid to get the whole thing fixed.

I have been with Allstate since I was 16. I have been a few accidents since then, of which were my fault, but all things were fine once I paid my deductible. Thank goodness I had full coverage then.

I have also had renter's insurance thru them, nut never had to use. I now have my home owner's thru them.

Ditto what Shane said about State Farm.
Never had an issue, have both homeowners and auto through them.

I've had Amica Mutual for Home and Auto for 5 years now and have been happy with them. I've shopped several times, and haven't found a better deal than them on the two, when you factor in the 15% discount on homeowners, and the dividend check each year which is usually around $300.

Geico. Great rates and not a quibble about the glass claim I made.

I used to have State Farm. About 10 years ago an old guy broadsided me in Pasadena. He claimed I ran a red light...when in actuallity he anticipated the light turning green on his side and jumped the light.

There were no witnesses...my word against his...so cop didn't issue a ticket.

Old man threatened to sue my insurance so State Farm rolled over like a dead dog. As soon as the accident came off my insurance record I dropped them like a hot potato. Went with Nationwide until their rates went sky high, but their service was great. Have been with Geico for 3 years now with no problems and I love their lower rates.

Had State Farm for about 12yrs with no real problems. Shopped around two years ago when my homeowners renewal quote seemed high. I am now a happy customer of AAA Texas (Yes the auto club) for both my homeowners and my auto insurance. Saved me about $2000 per year combined!!

State farm for Home and auto

Yes they are not the cheapest but I have never had any problems getting money from them when things go bad. I would rather pay a little bit more and know I will be able to get things repaired quickly with out hassle than battle with an insurance company to try and get repairs. JMO
