So I am curious to know how many marshians currently have harlequins and how they like them.

I want to get a pair but don't know if I want the expense of feeding them. I like the idea of having 3-4 Choco Stars in my sump to use for harvesting limbs (a-la The Island) but that brings my initial investment costs to at least $100+ of course I can buy the stars over time as well.

Bongo Shrimp are also pretty awesome, but once again not sure if I can keep a steady flow of micro-brittles for them.

Oh awesome, I'd never looked into Bongo shrimp before. They'd be neat for my macro tank, I have hundreds if not thousands of micro brittle stars in it.

the only thing I think is that it would be best to put either harlequins or bongo shrimp in a nano so you can at least see them... then for bongo shrimp just collect food from a larger tank. That way you dont lose the entire population of brittles. IDK just an idea.

I have been researching and read that they last around 2-3 years or more. Looks like as long as you keep them fed and dont have a crash :-( plus they do better as a mated pair.

Mine only made it a few months I believe. I think the key is not have a nice calm tank with very little competition. I miss the little one. :(

How did you feed your?

Did you have to buy star fishes all the time?

I fed it a leg of a chocolate chip star every other week as well as hundreds of asterina stars that were in the tank. I still have asterina to this day so I assume it wasn't a food issue. The more I think about it the more I lean toward one of the pistol shrimp. Who knows for sure though. I've read stories claiming that these shrimp can actually be scared to death by fast swimming fish.

Yeah at least in my biocube where I want to put them, I will even move my cleaner shrimp to my other tank... I have 3 damsels in there and maybe I should move them too. *thoughtful pose*

alright i did it. i finally pulled the trigger and got a pair. one is larger than the other and thus much easier to find. just put them in the tank yesterday so i will give them some time before trying to get pictures of them just yet.
