I'm debating selling my sailfin, or maybe putting him in with a yellow tang in a 150 I take care of.
The Sailfin is probably 6 inches, and the yellow is about 4.5".

I would introduce the new tang just after the lights go out and rearrange the rock a little so they both have to establish new territory.

I have both a Sailfin Tang and a Yellow Tang in my 180 gallon aquarium. They are quite happy with each other and don't seem to be hurting for room. They were both put together within a day of each other though.

to clarify...

i mean no your tank is not too small :) i just answered the question above.

yes, you can have both in that tank size.

i've had a yellow tang for 6 years and it has grown maybe 1/4" in that time.

The Tang Police probably will jump on me...
Depending on what type of tang, i would say you could have more that 2 in that size tank if you don't plan on stuffing it with too much LR and corals.

i think you're going to have to observe how they get along.. i wouldn't do it, but that's just me. it's good that the sailfin is bigger, but individual behaviors make a big difference. again, it sounds like you'll have to see how they react to one another. jmo
