Geeze.

What do you think is the most beautiful angel? (One that is some what available, unlike the crazy rare peppermint.)

Obtainable: queens, blueface, annularis, majestic, emperors
high dollar: scribbled, blueline and personfiner
Stupid money: conspiculatus, bandits, resplendens, interuptus, peppermints, clarions

Those are just the fish I personally like. There are still fish like Narcosis that are HUGE money but do nothing for me.

I'm a scribbled fan myself. Will get one once the tank matures more. That is hands down my favorite.

There are a ton of them I love. Angels are my favorite closely followed by wrasses, anthias and tangs. I just wish they would leave LPS alone.... Since I'm gonna run a mixed reef I don't see angels in my tank... though if I try it will be with scribbled and a couple of regals.

Queens are beauties as are the Majestic and Imperator (I had an adult Imperator many moons ago.. loved that fish. had so much personality.).

That is a truly rare fish, not sure I've seen one that young. My Conspic was my favorite, I snagged a 3" juve from old towne aquarium in Chicago. When I had a gemmatum and the Conspic it was the height of my rare fish binge. Hurricane ate them. Ill never do it again. Can't really, my rare guy went to jail in a Clarion sting.

My finances now are maybe a regal pair. I've always wanted a reef with only pairs.

I could never spend a ton on one fish, I would be anxiety ridden. A big lineatus wrasse came with my current set up and when I found out how much they cost (not even sure he is the most expensive, afraid to look up the others), I was so sure I would kill it and then hate myself.

I love our passer and emperor, they are
Always out and interact through the glass with us. The only one who is friendlier is the sohol tang.

Lineatus are within reason $200? Supermale maybe a bit more. My thought has always been I'd rather wait and save Up money and buy say Rhomboid before a Lineatus. That's just me. Any yes the introduction is horrifying. The most ideal way is just seperately them in QT so they can see each other then keep them together the rest of QT and release all like sizes or body types at once.

Yeah, but prior to this set up I thought spending 65$ on a blue tang was expensive. Hopefully by the time Kyle is grown up with his own tank he will be comfortable keeping any type of fish.

You can find a lineatus for $200 but it will be a female or juvi- I have seen big males going for three times that (though at expensive stores):wacko:.
On the obtainable side of angels I like blueface, scribbled, goldflake hasn't been mentioned and is on my stocking list, and majestic. I think any fish that gets even close to a grand is starting to become a "show off" piece more than a show piece. People are going to come over stare and your peppermint angel, dr. seuss and then go "oh, look you have a Nemo." Only other fish geeks will appreciate what you have.

Have any of you seen a live scribbled? Reeftopia? I am trying to limit my large angels on my stocking list and don't think a scribbled and blueface would get along. Anyone had both or is the scribbled even prettier than the blueface? That shockingly blue mask w/ neon on them is so awesome. I am avoiding queens and emperor just so I can add several types.

I have a tiny blue face. He is so cute right now.

My angel list:
Emperor 4 inches
Passer 3 inches
(2) flame angels
Blue face, 1.5 inches

May have one angelic war on my hands down the line, not my stocking choices.

Wow, that is an awesome list. They should be good on aggression while young- just keep an eye on them when they get older. All three of those have the "make the last fish" warning associated with them. I'm amazed you have have coral left though! Heck I'm doing the FOWLR just to get those fish and you already have them in a reef. I just tend to have real bad luck with my fleshy lps, brains, acans, etcetera. Even seem to get the tangs eating on them...

So far so good, the fish list in this tank is crazy. They will eat zoas in a second, but they dont bother much else. I do feed several small meals per day so they don't get peckish. I also hang nori a lot since the tang list is long as well. I hope it stays thid smooth, but I am watching for trouble.
