I am afraid to put this one in my tank ( came with a tank setup,i just bought ) I have read that they can release toxins, when stressed, in a 125g tank if it was to do this would that be something I have to worry about or would the toxins get to diluted in the tank to do any harm. Also I have read about them singing and killing other fish in the tank, anyone have a problem with this before? Also I have read that they have been known to eat corals, is this true? Anyone have one in their reef tank with no problems? Thanks

I've had one in my 90 gallon for a while now.. no problems, great fish. He buddies around with my kole tang. They do have poisonous spines, but only use as a defense. You don't want to get poked by one, from what I hear it is quite painful. I've never seen it eat corals.. they are grazers and mostly herbivores. I make sure I have nori on a clip for them, and he also grazes on the lr.

I do not know everything about a fox face but they release the toxins utilizing the spines just like many other fish, lion fish for example. The spines do not simply secrete the toxins into the water. This is a warning mainly for people on how to "handle" these fish.

On a positive note I have had 2 over the years and they definitely have a personality which comes out during feeding time. I have not seen them nip on any coral in my limited experience. No worries on this fish.
