My Zoa's are shrinking and their tissue is receding. Water parameters are good. I've ordered a new light fixture. I'm really bummed. I've been reading up on Vitamin C dosing. Anyone had good/bad experience with this? I've moved the frags around 3 times and they are not happy. I've dipped the frags twice in Coral Rx and don't see evidence of any pests or pox. One frag has turned white and doesn't open up. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

What are your # from your water?
What a lot ppl lacking on testing is potassium, potassium is a important factor in having corals.
Most of the wholesalers and even I Asia and Down Under it is the first they test for.
Me too test first my potassium and than ALK, PO4, CAL and as last MAG.
Since I dose potassium with the BEST dosing controller as of today :trueconfirmed: around my corals are growing like crazy and looking way better too.
I have ZOA's that I try to kill but if I do so the next day they come back twice as fast.
On my Zeovit I had a hard time growing ZOA's and got rid of a lot rare species , now with a small change in schedule I can grow everything in my tank.

I'm using K-Balance from ZEOvit.
Some Unique Wholesale reefer from SO-CAL send me a bottle of ELOS to try but didn't use it yet.

Alicia, they were fine until now, right? If so, what has changed? Did the flow change? lighting change? How soon did you re-dip the frags? Maybe they aren't happy from being dipped twice. Still not sure what you mean by "the frag turned white" but zoas will close up if the flow or lighting is out of whack or if there is algae, hermit crabs, snails or fish messing with them. I occasionally add vitamin c to my tanks but couldn't tell you yet if it's doing anything.

It seems like when I first added both frags they were happy for about a week and then semi closed up. They have not fully opened for at least two weeks. I did get a clean up crew with hermits, which I'm not happy with and need to re-home. I thought the package I ordered didn't include them but...

I dipped them when I got them and then two weeks later so I'm not sure if that was it. I moved the pink zippers back down on the sand bed and they seemed a tad bit happier last night. I will upload a pic of the others. I think they are goners. :/

I will check the potassium Diesel. Thanks for the tip.

I really hope the new lighting will help the cause.

This frag and my pink zippers came from a tank with LEDs. Not sure if that is why.

I wouldn't write those off as goners by any means. They aren't melting away. What are your current lights? What are the new ones and when do they come in? Did you add the hermits around the same time they started closing up? If you think the difference is the lighting and think that your lights are not strong enough, you would actually want to move them up higher in the tank. If the zippers open, try feeding them a small particle food. If these open at all, do the same.

I currently have a Coralife 4 fixture t5 with LED moonlight fixtures. The bulbs are old though. I've ordered the Reefbreeders photon 48 LEDs. It will be in next week. They seem to like the blue moonlights but not the not the others. I will try feeding and see if that helps. Thanks again for the advice.
