After much fussing with my camera I have been able to take some pictures of the Renew and Storm. Because of the size and space that I have available I will be putting this in my pantry area (former formal dinning room). This room the previous owners painted pepto pink if you can imagine. So I will be painting this room as well, at least the one wall before I put the system in place... on to the photos.

My wait is almost over! I recieved my shipping notice on my sump so I am super excited. I will be painting the pink wall today or tomorrow so that I can start installing my water changers. Once my sump gets here it will be full steams ahead and I will be able to move forward on my plumbing. One more week till I can put all of this together.

No, thats some sort of glue... like gorilla glue or something. We used that to help fix something a long time ago. If you know anything about gorilla glue you know it doesnt come off.... of anything.

That is interesting about the info on lighting. I am presently using 4 ho t 5 4 foot bulbs. Switching to "24 led's dimable bluesand whites on seperate drives lighting system. Is this lighting stong enough for my crocea clams and does this lighting never loose its spectrum thus everlasting? I presently spend over 60 dollars a year on t5 bulbs so this can be time saving and cost saving. Thanks for the info and apreciated. Jim

I have finally started the plumping on the tank. I am really glad that I did before I got the electrical done. There is absolutely no room in the stand for outlets because of all the space limitations. I have decided to just add a circuit so that there wont be any power problems with over loaded circuits. I have decided to go with two 10-Outlet 19" Rack Mount Power Strip with Individual Switches pictured below.

I have also taken a few pictures in the hopes that someone would be able to tell me if this plumbing is ok or if I need to think through the design a bit more. Nothing is glued yet so I can change things if need be. The pump I have is the sicce 2.0. I dont expect a bunch of flow for my drain/return as I want a good amount of contact time for the macro and skimmer to do its job. I simply want this to be quiet and not gurgle. I also have a durso stand pipe in the over flow with strainer.

If this is a good design then I can move on to gluing and testing for leaks.

The water is getting so close I can almost taste it!

I don't thik there is anything wrong with your plumbing, i saw your post on rc and teh response you got, decided to answer you here. i'm not sure i understand how you are going to plumb the genesis in line with the tank, i thought it was independant of the system.
look it up on youtube, there is a video of a guy who shows how his works.

I was wondering about that too... I dont have it completely set up yet so I dont know how it needs to be set up. Of course it does need its own pumps so I may be doing with out a "refugium" in order to allot for the space issue I have.

And thank you about my plumbing. I know you... dont really know the other guy... I take most opinions on the net for a grain of salt yours imo holds more weight. I have no idea if that other guy has real experience... I guess I could search him out to see but who has the time for all of that lol. Also, I stopped giving his opinion any weight when he said that the added drain was a waste of plumbing... IMO any one and everyone should know that you can lose a pump. Either you would be forced to buy that exact same pump OR you can have the ability to pick a different pump to try and increase flow or not or what have you... its all about giving yourself room to grow.

I am wondering though if what he said about the possible noise from the straight pipe drain is true... Would it be better for the drain to have twists and turns? It would suck to get it all together and then find out I should have done it differently lol.

Where did you get the 10-Outlet 19" Rack Mount Power Strip with Individual Switches?
The plumbing looks clean and professional.

do you remember when you were at my house, do you remember hearing noise from my tank, outside of the skimmers hummmm? i have straight drains, they do make noise after coming from a power out and are adjusting themselves, basically getting the air out.
but after that it's good, if you want you could use flex hosing and put a little curve in yours or a 90. it all comes down to air and water mixture, plus you are not pushing too much flow through your system.

by the way, that guy (uncle) gets a lot of respect on that site, i still don't think everything that comes out of his mouth is right, but not to the point that i would argue with him.
as for me, i will only tell you thing from my own experience, not the webs, but keep in mind; what will work for me may not work for you.
