nice! but if those straps are not aluminum, they will get salt spray on them and rust, infact if you do not put a sheild over those leds, the connections will oxidize. i have my leds over the tank without a sheild as you saw and my leds are oxidizing from salt creep.
i have to get some acrylic very soon as i am finally done adding leds to my rig. that canopy does not look like it will keep the leds too far from the water. i could be wrong and you could be totally safe.
how far from the water is the leds mounted?

Its only about 12 inches from the top of the tank, if that... probably more like 7 or 8. I do have glass lids on my tank though so I wasnt to worried about salt getting on the light. I am glad you brought that up though because I was planning on removing the lids because I didnt want to have to worry about cleaning them lol. Thanks for the heads up.

Also the straps are made of galvanized steel. Its supposed to be ok in saltwater applications but we will see.

Here are the pictures of the light on the tank.

The controller is really nice. I am able to decide how much blue or white I want it to be. I really like that. The pictures shows the lighting at different settings. I will have fun figuring out which I like best. Plus if I end up liking it REALLY blue I can have that for viewing but change the light for pictures, which is awesome.

Heres a picture with no white. If I turn it up, it would look like I photo shopped the picture and is rather cartoony.

Thanks, I am happy with it.

No I havent gotten him to answer the phone. I thought about calling up to his work since hes the type of idiot that posts his job for all the world to see on his facebook. But I havent yet. I might even call him from a different number just to get in touch with him. If nothing else but to tell him how stupid he is. lol

it looks good! i like the canopy a lot!

Thanks, it looks good to me too.

+1 for the blue light and the seriously deep sand. What kind of sand is that?

Its Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand. Since this is an SPS tank and I wanted a dsb, I needed to make sure the sand wouldnt blow all over the place. Its just heavy enough to not be a problem with the sand storms.

IDK if I will put a shelf or not. I might so that I will be able to add some lower light corals, and also have more space. I just dont like the jigsaw type look when all rocks are connected to each other via shelves... Of course I have never seen one fully grown either, so maybe I should look into it.

Well, whether you do or don't, it has a REALLY clean look to it with the nice white sand and dead rock. You are tempting me Narny. I may get rid of my LR and go strictly with DR. Did you just dump the sand in or did you make it look like that on purpose. Love that wavy natural look. So what if I'm jealous of a sand bed...don't judge me!

Its funny that you bring up the sand. I always TRY to have a nice flat sand bed but it never ends up that way lol. I dumped it all in and then smoothed it all out. But once I put power heads in at various positions as well as move any rock, it happens. My sand has always been wave like and very natural in appearance.

I will but it will be a selection of carefully selected animals. There are many animals that I wont put in my tank, like hermit crabs for example.

Might I ask why you don't want crabs? Lol

They kill my snails.

I used to add them all the time. I would add equal amounts of snails and hermits and a few months later I would have snail shells and hermit crabs. Replacing the snails and removing the crabs was annoying enough that I swore them off.

SON OF A B#$%H...so THAT'S why I keep losing all of my snails!!!

Yes that would be why or at least in part. Some times they would kill them for their shells, but more often than not, they did it with out taking the shell so maybe its a food thing. idk. Also if you have any wrasses they could also be why. My wrasse ate all of my snails when I tried to feed less food.
