just got back from show. As far as prices no I didn’t see any deals you couldn’t get at a lfs. But overall it was really cool vibe. Not much saltwater fish. About roughly dozen coral vendors. Several local vendors out there so what they had in store is what they brought.
A bucket it is then. I usually store it for a month or two while I go through it. The bag usually seems to last me roughly a month with 10% WC on my 40 breeder setup.
What’s the best way to store salt? I know a lot of guys buy the 5 gallon bucket but I usually buy the IO reef crystal bag. Is a bucket with a lid the best option?
Thanks for the reply frank. I’m going to test again before I do my water change to see what I get. I do have a few LPS in my tank. I tested right after a water change so I’m assuming the IO reef crystal is a little hot on the calcium this batch.
Hey guys need some advice. I just recently started testing my water and bought some salifert test kits. The problem I’m running into is i keep getting a reading above 500 on the calcium. I never get a color change. Is there a high range test kit? Im using IO reef crystal salt.

me and my wife said the same thing. We don’t keep any reptiles but would like to just go see all the different booths. They are definitely double dipping charging for parking plus an additional for both aquatic and reptile. But hoping it’s worth the money. Seems to be a fair amount of vendors on...
Thanks for the replies. I just picked one up from TAP. Like the idea of a quick check instead of using the refractometer as much. Pretty awesome device.
I went to the happy reefing show today. It was ok. Smaller than I was expecting. Was my first coral show so wasn’t sure what to expect. TAP anniversary sale is a madhouse for sure.
