What’s the best way to store salt? I know a lot of guys buy the 5 gallon bucket but I usually buy the IO reef crystal bag. Is a bucket with a lid the best option?

I used to just roll up the top of the bag to store it, but would often wind up with some of it turning rock-hard as humidity got into it. I now always store it in a bucket with lid and don't have that problem. Just buy a bucket once, then once it's empty you can go back to buying the bags and pouring them in there once opened.

How long of storage we taking? Weeks, months, years? If a few weeks in a sealed bag is okay...in the bucket, as long as you have a good seal you can go months with no problem. Keep temp and Humidity stable and you'll be fine

A bucket it is then. I usually store it for a month or two while I go through it. The bag usually seems to last me roughly a month with 10% WC on my 40 breeder setup.

I have a spare empty Salinity bucket you can have if you want it. It has a rubber gasket and a locking top to keep the moisture out.
