for reactors you have several good choices:
avastmarine: looks very promising
bulkreefsupply: heard all good things about them.
two little fishes, i woould run these in sump, they may leak.
nextreef, which i currently own, well built.

nice kalk stirrer!

Thanks flexrac I have been looking at the BRS one because I would be able to hang it up in the stand. I am slowly running out of room under there. I will probably only run carbon every now and then so I think I may just go with the single chamber and split it when necessary. Trying to keep room for calcium reactor later down the road.

Progress has been slowed by the storms up north seems that UPS decided to wait until summer to deliver all my packages.

Waiting on a reef keeper light, I will get some pictures up when that comes in and I start the journey of wire management.

For now just watching the ever exciting event that is the cycling process.

for gfo and carbon, i highly recommend the BRS reactors. It would be better to get 2 separate units so you can control rate of flow better.

I have the next reef, but I ended up using the BRS more. Its a lot easier to clean and replace media. I took both reactors offline a while back. Been using meshbags for the past 2 months.... back to basics I guess.

Agree 100%. I had a hard time w/ the BRS dual reactor, getting the GFO to tumble consistently. It was touchy.

I too have gone back to bags in the sump. It' easier for me to maintain, less electricity, etc.

I do have the SRO Biopellet reactor. I didn't like the BRS reactor/pellet cartridge at all - the pellets always clumped up & flow was irregular - but the SRO is great. I run that & a Kalk reactor. Carbon in a bag. Haven't bothered with GFO in months.

Do you think that I could put to single BRS reactors and run them off of one MJ 1200 with valves to control each separately?

i don't think the mj 1200 will give you enough head pressure to run both off of it. i have an mj 900 running my brs filled with carbon and kinda regret not getting a bigger pump...

Cool thanks guys, I am going to do some more looking around to read some more specs. I'll let you know if I run across anything interesting.

RKL showed up today. I got it installed and running not much going now until the cycle is done of course.

I got one of these glass cleaners to try out. I hear good things about them.

Just thought I would updated the progress so far.

Here is what is living in the tank as of today.

Here is a wide shot.

Some frags, they will sit here until I can get a frag tank for them.

The acan sure does not seem happy.

I hope my tank will lead to some good stuff for future PIF and frag swaps.
