You don't need 60 gallons. I used 4 gallons in 60 gallons of water to clean my mixing tank. I put my skimmer, return pump, and reactor pump in there also. Everything cleaned right up. I let it soak overnight. about 14 hours.

Ok maybe 10-20 gallons running for a couple days to a week, lol. Im glad to hear that I dont have to spend that much on the vinegar. :p

I guess I was wrong about the vinegar (wouldnt be the first time I was wrong!). I was just speaking from experience.

The plumbing looks outstanding! It is funny how us true reef geeks get as much if not more of a thrill from a well done tank plumbing job as we do from a stocked aquarium!

I agree, nothing like seeing a nice clean plumbing set up. Makes me feel kind of inspired.

I love the mechanics of an aquarium almost as much as its contents. Sometime I have to tell myself to sit back and actually enjoy whats living inside my tank. LOL

Lol, thats cool I appreciate your help and comments regardless about the vinegar. Thanks for the complements on the plumbing too, I tried to make it as simple but most effective as possible.

Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving...I enjoyed the in-laws that came down to my house. :) . Anywho..I made a little progress on the tank. I dumped in 6 gallons of vinegar to start the cleaning process and its doing good 3 days running now. I will add more if needed. I also installed my PM Bullet 3 which is pulling crap out already...lol.. good deal. After running the tank and fixing the little irriatating drips leaks I didnt like all the splashing noise coming out of the drains soooo. I added 4 mufflers to the system that worked wonders I reccommend everyone do this if you sump is in your house. lol  oH, I also ran down to regal plastics and picked up some 1/4" scrap from the heap and cut some bubble traP baffles and a filter sock rack to be installed tonight in my sump. Pict's below. thanks for looking and posting as usual

Oh it has a modest 500rwhp N/A. Whats yours putting to the ground?

575 on low boost and bad tires. Good numbers for you though.

Thanks man. I wanted to hit the 500 mark without spraying or any forced induction. 575 is bad either. I'd like to see it sometime.

Another little update. I made a filter sock holder/stand out of the remaining acrylic scrap I had left. It came out decent. Buy no means am I a professional at this. In-fact this is my first time cutting and making dividers in sump..so.. lol...excuse the extra silicone... I also washed out a couple buckets of sand and put it in the tank and refugium. When the rock arrives it will be easy brezzy from there. I hope...lol... anyway pict's below of my little progress.

I wish my husband would be ok with me going to San Antonio to get a tank :( Hes hardly ok with me going to the North side or Galveston for the hobby . Though, hes getting better about it. The break-in to the hobby was a little shocking for him. Sticker shock on the cost not to mention the upkeep.

That tank looks gorgeous btw. I hope your wife approves!
Are you going to be leaving the back clear or are you going to put some sort of backing?
