to be honest, i really don't feel like any of the current potential presidential nominees from either party are anywhere close to my political beliefs.

i voted other republican.

I all honesty I agree with Brandon the things that are important to me seem not to be important to them. These are what seems important to me in no particular order though.

1. Tax reform - flat tax or consumption tax. Stop letting major corporations pay nothing in taxes while the middle class picks up the bills for them and for all of their illegal labor they help import.

2. Election Reform - national sponsored campagins, not private donations - take the lobbyists out of it and maybe someone will do the right thing.

3. Immigration and borders - tax reform will stop a lot of the illegal immgration. Tax 40% all money transferred from this country to another. Move our military from Iraq to the Mexican and Canadian borders.

4. Culture - make English the official language of the United States. All legal immigrants should love this country before all others.

5. Energy - tap Alaska - use alternative fuel sources - get the car makers out of bed with the oil companies. Stop making hybrid cars look so stupid so we might actually buy one.

6. Military - bigger badder more deadly.

7. Welfare - max two years - mandatory birth control while taking on welfare. Mandatory job training while on welfare.

8. Stop attack on the Christians. Stop taking down crosses and nativity scense. Bring back Merry CHRISTMAS.

just a question does anyone want baroc obama?
Put a few more years of experience and I think he will be ready. At this time, I would not be comfortable with him as president.

As for as religion, I am a strong believer in God but I do believe that in a country such as the United States, religion needs to remain seperate. Let me finish before anyone hangs me out to dry.

My religion is strong enough for me that I do not need to prove to others that I believe in God or have to make others go by my beliefs in order to feel religious. The is the Great land of the United States of America. THE LAND OF THE FREE!

Abortion and Gay Marriage - I DO NOT believe in it nor do I agree with it but I do not belive in telling others how to live their lives. I figure that if it is wrong and goes against God than that will be them that will pay the price. As for as abortion, death is death and I am against the death penalty. In the Bible, it says "THOU SHALL NOT KILL". Killing is killing. As for gays and lesbians, I honestly feel that it is not a choice. I have had many discussions with gay friends of mine and a few have actually broke down and said that if it were that easy to be straight than they would for the fact of not having to worry about discrimination or worse, being killed. Yes, some actually take it to extreme and to me... that is between them and God.

Putting Merry back into Christmas - No matter what anyone every does in this matter, I will forever say Merry Christmas. It has always been that way and I will not change now. Like if someone sneezes, I will say "God bless you". I was raised to say certain things and again, I will not change for I have the total right to religion.

Illegals in this country - there will be no imprisoning nor will their be no feeding of illegals because they will not remain in this country long enough to even cook the meals. I would have them on buses and planes by the loads and have millitary officers aboard the buses or planes, and either drive or fly them straight to their homeland distinations. If you want to become a citizen, do it the right way. I would have the boarders heavily patrolled by our Reserves and if someone pases the line, first, give them a warning fire and then 5 seconds to run the other way and if they still come cross, shoot them in the leg. Believe me, without two feet, they won't be crossing even a picket line.

Tax reform - I beleive that everyone should pay the same percentage unless you make over a million dollars a year. Companies should have to pay more than individuals and that there would be NO companies sending work to other countries. I would give companies a tax break but it would be scaled on according to how much they grossed. The smaller the company, the better the tax break. BUT the tax breaks would not be like they are today. A tax break is a form of relief, not a form of gain.

Election Reform - There would be 4 national convention days in which the Government would pay to have them publically broadcasted. 2 at the beginning of the primaries and 2 on the day before the primaries plus the results on the day of the primaries. Any other forms of publication would have to be done with private donations and companies nor lobbyists could not donate. ALL candidates would be audited at the end of election. Those who take from illegal groups would face prison time w/o the chance of being pardoned.

Culture - "make English the official language of the United States." You would have a year to learn basic English. If you can not then you would be shipped back to you homeland. PERIOD!!!

Energy - Still out for the jury!

Military - I agree... BIGGER... BETTER... and when i say I am going to use a bomb... I USE IT!

Welfare - Easy fix - You will NOT be able to claim a child credit on your taxes. Concider the welfare to to be your credit. Also, there will be a set amout of time in which you will be able to be on welfare. If you will continue to need it after the set time than you better be able to show proof that you are doing everything in your power to show that you are trying to better yourself.

Though I'm in most respects a "liberal", I was born and raised a die-hard Libertarian and so it looks like Ron Paul is my man. Though, if Hillary and Obama ran together, I might vote for the two of them... when I might not be so inclined to vote for one or the other over Ron Paul.

i knew there was a reason i liked you chris.... i would vote for you as well.. hahaha
while I did scream ITS MERRY CHRISTMAS at some tool in a store when they said happy holidays to me once, (I like christmas too) it seems like the dems are just way too liberal when it comes to religous freedom while the republicans are just way too intolerant. i would like to find a happy medium.
