I am changing my 330G Discus tank to a FOWLR. It was a pain changing this thing over, but I was able to remove all of the sand and clean out my 2260 and wet/dry. I am changing my wet/dry into a fuge. I bought a glass piece to replace the old egg crate that held the sponge. I also removed all of the bio balls to put in sand and will probably make a fuge with Macros and Mangroves and some cool little fish. I am currently working on the plumbing and I just need to plumb my skimmer and figure out how much space I will have left over so I can get a tank to be my ATO reservoir. Also built a durso pipe before I used bio bale to reduce the noise from the falling water.

looks great. Can't wait to see some fish in there.

Did you finalize the stocking list?

Nice, would love to see some exotic fish in there.
like the goldflake angel or a pair of blue throats triggers, or a scribbled angel, and some beautiful fowler wrasses. good luck can't wait to see the final build.

Just curious about the thought process on the Mp40 and Mp60s for a FOWLR tank, i have always only done sps so I understand the need for that much flow, more curious for my own knowledge since I have never done the fowlr route.

Most of the fish I will stock live in reef tidal areas. So like the corals they are accustomed to surges and high flow. It's nit necessary but most suggest the alternating current to reduce stress on the fish and replicate their natural habitat.

Updated pics. Nothing much has changed all parameters are holding steady. I just picked up some chromis to make sure the cycle is complete.

Thanks Felix. I will have to play that one by ear, I added more rock but I wasnt really happy with the way it looked it was to high IMO. Maybe it was just the wrong pieces and I need to keep an eye out for some good ones.

Well got home today and 2 chromis are MIA and 1 is hiding buy is laying its side but still breathing. I dont know if the others died or hiding and dont want to come out. Checked params and all is normal.

So last night I came home and there were 4 chromis swimming around. So now only 1 is MIA. I guess they wanted to all hide on Monday.
