I finally filled my new 500 gallon tank after installing the acrylic. The acrylic is 1" thick x 4'6" wide x 5' tall. I will be looking for an external pump for it if someone has one they do not need.

I had to reduce the picture quality to upload.

Yes it is just going to be a fish only and some base rock. Did you see the rock yet at the place you called.

Actually looks better than the stuff in WildFire's pics because it has more holes but smaller.

Not yet i had to drain it the 100% G.E sealant did not bond to the acrylic. I had to remove the glass and start over. Trying to find a better silicone for it.

I decided to tape a border around the edge where the silicone is going to be. Then i used the same blue epoxy and painted it. The epoxy bonded to the glass and the silicone bonded to the epoxy. I hope that fixed my problem.

He already wants to get in it.......... I had to get in it to put the big rock. It is about 175 lbs. I kept floating to the top of the tank so I finally started holding on the rock so I could stay at the bottom and arrange it.

This is a little off-topic, but the picture of the rock reminded me to ask the question. I've had 2 different reef aquariums now that had a piece of the texas holey rock in them. After a little while on both of them the water turned a light shade of brown, kinda like a very weak tea. Nothing seemed to be unhappy with this development except for me. Corals and fish didn't care. After trying everything, carbon, extra filters, another skimmer, I noticed a brown spot on one of the pieces of holey rock. I took the rock out, and the water cleared up. When it happened in the other aquarium I didn't notice a brown spot on the rock but when I removed it from the aquarium the water cleared up. My guess is something is leaching from the rock and coloring the water. Can anyone verify that? If so, what is it that's coloring the water?

Thanks,

Brian
