I'm looking for a good range to go do some stress relief with some new toys I got , any suggestions ?

Go up 290 between barker cypress and skinner. I forget the name. It's outdoors and they've expanded.
That's hot wells, been there once - it was ok. They charge by the gun not the person which is different.

We should get a group together- chance to try out different guns! I just have a springfield armory .45 xdm and a smith and wesson .22 for practice with the kids. Tough to find ammo for that thing too.

Yep Hotwells is the only one on 290. If you don't mind driving a little farther Athena gun club has a really nice indoor range. They are at the corner of I10 & Beltway 8. You have Memorial shooting center just east of Athena also.

If you need .22lr go to Carter Country. They have piles of it. They limit 1 box per customer though. If you go by Gander Mountain they get their shipments in on monday. They limit you to 10 boxes. I told them I wanted a case (12 boxes or 6300 rounds) and they sold me an unopened case last week.

Cool, thanks Mark. I might try and grab a case too then. Yea- I have been wanting to check out Athena. Went to Memorial once and wasn't terribly impressed. Hotwells is good if the weather is right.

Oh definitely. I blow through 250-300 rounds every range trip. Luckily I've got close to 20k rounds of ammo in the safe.

There is a gun/golf range near Hwy 1960 on Jones Rd
Never been but I may be willing to put a few rounds down range
