I am building a Zeovit reactor. I need an idea of how hard you have to work at shaking the rocks. I would think that the mulm would come off pretty easy and that you are basically stirring things up. I just wanted to find out your opinions on this that have these reactors. Say graded on a number between 1 and 10: shaking a spray paint can would be hard (10), to stirring coffee (1) soft. Any Zeo users please chime in.

My ears were ringing Steve. :D

I pump my reactor twice a day (morning and afternoon). It's kind of hard to explain but you can only pull and push the handle so fast because of the water pressure. The water moving through the holes in the bottom plate almost dictates how fast/hard you can pump it. Because of this, I will twist the handle as I'm pushing back down so the rocks spin and fall at the same time. Pull handle up and twist/push back down to mix the rocks again.

There's no resistance to shaking a can of spray paint or stirring coffee so I'm not sure how to reply with a number. Maybe I'm not getting what you are asking?

Thanks Mark. That was just what I was looking for. Thanks Dragon that helps also. I must have missed that episode. Anyway. I am shaking mine a little different.

I am shaking mine a little differently. I making a PVC reactor that will hang free with a motor and lever that will basicaly kick it. It is going to be outside and looks don't matter. I just need to know how hard I should be kicking it.

As long as water is forced through the zeolites to separate and tumble them like shown in the video you are good.
