I purchased this from an online vendor the other day.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this piece or positively ID it?

Can anyone confirm if it is an actual Acan Maxima?

I like it too. It was advertised and sold as a Acan maxima but now actually have doubts upon examining it up close.

Love the first picture but it looks so saturated.

How does the coral look now, can you post a picture?

Without bleaching it and then looking at the skeleton under a stereoscope, I don't think anyone could confirm it as an Acan maxima. Also, if it wasn't collected in the Red Sea, then technically it isn't:

Most corals in the hobby are assigned a name based on a look, many incorrectly. I think that's the case here. Acan's with this look are called Acan maxima, though technically they aren't. It's a beautiful find nevertheless, and I hope to see how it grows out. Please post updates.
