Will T5's be adequate lighting for a Acan Lord? I would also appreciate any other care tips from those that have these in their tank. Feeding, placement, current?

Well I don't have one in my tank, does that knock me out of the list of suggestors?

Feeding, dont' have to, but if you want it to grow faster, or at least seem to grow faster, please do.
You can feed it mysosis (sp?), krill, what ever it can fit in its mouth, or small enough to let the tentacles grab it.

If you have any serious doubts, I can keep it for you.

Tell me you did not get the red poisioness type.

Those things are monsters. They will begin to poison everything in your tank from fish, to other coral. They start off very friendly and establish themselves.

Next thing you know they release poison in the tank to kill everything. Research on Reef Central, and you will find many threads on this.

The best thing to do is to erradicate them immedialtey. I have helped others do this. Please give me your address, I can swing by and get those out of your tank for you right now.

T5's should be fine ! :D

Wow... nice score, I got dibs on the first frag you make. :-D

Have you got the T5s set up yet? I talked with Markieb yesterday about them... sounds like a good way to go.

Yes Jim ,
I tried to write it in a way that I would have poeple going "What the fu#$"?
I even authenticated it with " Reef Central! :D

Glad my diabolical scheme pulled some legs! :)

Rick,
One thing I did not mention is the customization.

With six bulbs over my 75 I can really make the tank any color I want with different bulb selections. I like that too.

The main selling point though was the heat.
I am not doing a chiller. I just cant afford that route.

With a fan I can keep the tank temp correct running T5's.
I am not sure I could do that with the halides.

I too was scrathing my head thinkinh uh oh how did I miss the issues with the red one. :(

I am also transitioning over to T5's and am just amazed at the difference from my PC lighting. Not wanting to run a chiller either.

funny that you mentioned this topic. I just got a frag in the mail this morning. :D

T5s are fine. My first one has been okay for awhile. I'm hoping that this latest one will be more than just okay tho. much bigger polyp than the other one.
