Ok so I am purchasing a "bank" of stalls/tanks for my breeding set up. The tanks are 8ft long by 16 1/4 high by 15 1/4 deep. I am fine with the depth, I will be cutting the over all length in half (basically) but my question is how hard would it be to cut about 3-4 inches off of the top of the whole set up? I have a 3 tier stand already where my tanks are and I would like to take the 10g tanks out and put this set up in, problem is the shelves are about 17 inches from one shelf to the other and I need to be able to get pots in and out as eggs are laid. If its going to be a big deal ill have to build a new stand (I'm trying to avoid that because I don't really have the tools to build anything). Any ideas?

How thick is the acrylic and is there an existing eurobrace? Unless this is made with thicker acrylic so that you can forgo the eurobrace it's probably not something you want to do. Cutting the tank is easy enough but adding a euro brace back will likely cause the tank to craze.

Even with no tools it would probably be easier and cheaper to rebuild a stand than mess with the tank.

Its exactly what I need, the problem is the existing stand I have built is designed for 10g tanks. This setup is great if I can modify it to fit the stand, I really dont want to spend more money on getting ANOTHER stand built for this if I dont have to.

Yeah I understand and definitely know that feeling.. I would be really worried about screwing up the acrylic tanks and if that happens then your out $$. I guess I would weight the costs of destroying the acrylic and then having go buy 10g tanks vs. the cost of modifying or building a new stand.
