So I'm being good and did all my water tests in my 20g and 75g reefs.
Found my alk a little low in my 20g so tried to treat with liquid buffer.
Didn't want to treat too much and cause flakes which causes even more probs, so only put a small amount, like a 1/3 of a cap full in the direct flow of the powerhead to disburse quickly....but sure enough, got flakes in there anyway.
So frustrating.
If my alk is low and I'm trying to treat correctly, why would it flake out anyway?
This is why I don't like to test, treat, dose, etc...for fear of overanalyzing, treating incorrectly, dosing wrongly, and screwing tanks up more than they were in the first place.
Probably should just do water changes every week and not test or treat.
