Hey all,
I know that people use kalk paste to kill off aiptasia, but I got about 3-4 of them within 1 inch of corals. With the closeness and having a small tank, I did not want to try that.
So, I tried a little syringe full of the clear kalk water layer that you would normally drip into the the tank. I hooked up an air tubing, aimed it directly ontop of the aiptasia, and I slowly drip about 5ml through with the tank pumps off. Turned on the pumps after the 1-2 minute.
So far, the little ones have not popped up, and a full adult seems to have its tentacles burned and is hunched over. Now, does that kill them by any chance, or am I going to get like 100 little pests running around?
Just curious if anyone has tried this. I tried plucking them in the past, but they grew back. I also think they multiplied after I did that. I also tried super glue, but 1 of 3 of them actually wiggled through the superglue, and moved out--the next time, I put a larger glob. Also, superglue is only good for small ones. I think larger ones is more difficult.
If this doesn't work, I was going to try aiptasia-x, but I figured it would be difficult to get a needle into the small thing.
