Hi...I am working towards the installation of my new tank. It will be a 140...any suggestions on powerheads....I had thought first about 4 Maxi Jet 1200s and now thinking I should try to get the Seio ...Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I would go with the Maxi-jets over the Seio, especially in a 140G. They just don't have the power to move water around in a tank that size. OR, you can always get a couple of Tunze streams :D

The SEIO's do have two larger sizes now, but I have never seen them in action.

They have the 1500's now but I'm just not impressed with their performace, size, and cost.

I'm not happy with their cost but I do not know a lot more about them. Do you think I would be okay with maxi jets? Vic, where have you been?
Going to the frag swap?

Linda, I have 6 MJ 1200's in my 75 gallon tank and would like more flow and no ugly powerheads, so I'm going with a closed loop when I get my new tank set up. Have you considered that option?

Hi Linda, I've been busy with work so I don't get around much. The frag swap is too far for me so I'm thinking of not going. :(

I think you're better off with the Maxi-jets than the Seio's, but if you want you can try one out and make your own oppinions about them. I have one you can try out, It's the 820. Another nice option, if you haven't set up the tank yet, is a closed loop. I like the fact that you can take out the PH's and just have a few nozzles here and there. It looks alot better IMO :D

A closed loop would be your best option I think second would be custom maxi jet streams haha and third Seio's.

Just get Nick to build you a nice acrylic tank holder and use a Mag 18 as a power head, i am sure it will push the water to the other side of the tank. In fact the Tunzes are only really suppose to be doing the water movement hard for 2 feet, this would give you a "hard" stream all the way across and more. hahaha

(please don't take this as serious.) Talk about gaudy. That would be an eye sore, especially the saltwater coming at you from the other side of the tank.

Not only would it be an eye sore but she would have to scrape her fish off the glass. hehehe.
