A new pump and T-5 fixture have my temps a little higher than I would like during the day. I bought a fan to install in the canopy and was wondering if I should blow air in or have it blow air out? The back of the canopy is open if that makes a diffrence.

Thanks,

I mounted my fans to blow in. I mounted one on each corner in the back blowing in at a slight angle towards the middle. I figured it blew cool air in and the hot air was pushed out the open back.

I've heard of some people with fans on each side to mount one side blowing in and the other side blowing out. This creates a flow across the bulbs through the entire hood. I just did not want to drill holes in my hood to do this.

i second what brad and chris said...err third what they said....have them blowing in so they can push the hot moist air out. if you have them blowing out you can get mold spots where the fan in pointed and as chris said, they will get all corroaded and wont last very long.

Blow

Advice taken, I have the fan blowing air in.

I got the ATI Sunpower 6x54. It is very quiet but gets hot with all 6 bulbs on.

Thanks,

Pics

I have an old point and shoot camera so the shots don't really show the true colors. These are the best I could do. I did one with and without the flash.

Bulbs are 3 ATI Blue Plus, 2 ATI Aquablue Special 12k and 1 Fiji Purple.
