Have a couple spots of this algae popping up in different areas of the tank. I know I have gha but I'm asking about the thicker single green strand. Thanks! f0f658604e602e6984192877da9852e2.jpg

Not exactly sure what we're looking at... can you circle the spots you're wondering about?

No idea. Is that the only piece? Do you have macro in your sump?

I’d suggest manual removal at this point. Could have come in on a frag or snail... Increase whatever nutrient export system you already use (what did you replace the cheato reactor with?) and consider decreasing your photoperiod. If it was not recently introduced, it’s been there all along just waiting for an opportunity to grow.

Is it slimy or more grainy like hair algae?

There’s so many species of algae it would be hard to say without looking at it under a scope. I’ve never seen that kind of algae over run a tank so it’s obviously not very common. I’d still manually remove it or any algae that is not being used to manage nutrients in the sump.
