Means keep pouring Phyto Feast in.
Get Po4 up, otherwise you can go back to page 4 of this thread ;-)

I just dosed and will test again in an hour. When I got up to 45 ppb I started getting algae growth again. So I've been trying to keep it between 15 and 30 ppb.

Would now be OK to add more sand? Live?
How much? 1/4 inch? 1/2 inch? More or less?

The problem started 5 to 6 months ago with an Alk spike. I kept my alk at about 8.5 and I took my eye off the numbers and it went to over 11 before I caught it. I started having sps die off, which meant I needed less alk so it took time too bring it under control but by that time I had lost about 12 frags/mini colonies. Some survived but it took about 3 months to even things out. It has cut my kalk use by 1/3.

I started getting turf algae so I started using Vibrant about 3 weeks ago. It did wonders in my 10 gallon but in my son's 90 has proved harder. The turf algae is not going away and now I have GHA. About a week ago I cleaned the sump of any remaining chaeto, detritus, sand, and other crud. I now have a clean sump, which I like, but the GHA has moved in. I am dosing 20 mls of vibrant 2 to 3 times a week, the tank has 125 gallons total.

the sps are still slowly dyeing. they are either paling out or looking hard. The only sps that are growing are the frogskin and tri-color valadia.

I've started doing 25 to 30 gallon water changes every 4 days.

I started using Aquaforest reef salt about a month ago.

Alk 8.3 to 8.6
No3 3 to 10
mag 1380ree
cal 400 to 410
. Ok so here is what I would say that works for me and others on you tube. Get an algae scrubber! I personally think that is the best way to get rid of gha or any algae! Look up Santa Monica filtration. They sell the product they have different sizes! This is my opinion!

If you read through the entire thread you may notice that a scrubber would not have done anything positive, it would have made things even worse ;-)

Algae scrubber are great method of nutrient reduction, however, the impact on Po4 is very dynamic, not good for a system which requires absolute stable parameter.

Right now, I am having to dose PO4. I need more fish and to feed more but I can live with that.

My last few sps are hanging on and my mystery sps is starting to take on some neat colors and growing. I had to frag it because I thought it was starting to stn but it did not.

My parameters are stable.
Algae isn't getting worse but I'm still removing a lot and cyano is still hanging around. I think I need to do more water changes.
