do pearl bubbles get very unique? city pets had a "show size" bubble last weekend. I think Global had a similar sized one on Tuesday. I don't know if you'd call them unique though.

I seem to recall seeing a green bubble coral somewhere, but have no idea which of those places I was at. It might have been Planet Fish. I suppose you might call ahead and ask.

If you have a dremel tool, I have a green bubble coral that I am willing to frag. If you are interested and have the tool, send me a PM and we can talk about it.

Hey, Jim,

Are you sure you've got the heart to frag it? I wanted a piece of that back in April :D

I got the dermel, but what blade do I need to by for it?

I had thought about doing that to my maze brain coral which has two sections with lot of skeleton between, that way I would have two brains without actually having to cut any tissue.

Hey Jim, its growing, we have seen new growth on it, so that is really good.

Karen, if yall every want or happen by accident to get a small frag from that brain of yalls we would want it.

Karen,
I was willing to do it back in April, but we kept getting our wires crossed and were never able to settle on a time when you could come down with the dremel and frag it.

I am still willing to frag it. If you are still interested, give me a call (drop me a PM if you can't find my number) and we can start trying to do this again.

P.S. I can only frag it once, therefore it is first come first served.

Jim, can you point me in the direction of some info on how to frag bubbles. I have one that is getting pretty large and I may frag it in the near future.

Fragging bubbles is definitely a difficult task. I don't know of anywhere that there is any literature on it. In the case of mine, when I first got it it had an area of recession in the middle of it which caused it to grow into two separate colonies on the same skeleton. When I frag this one, I will just be cutting between the two colonies without ever effecting the flesh of either.

I don't pretend to be an expert on the coral, but I do know LPS and I have never known one to regrow over the dead skeleton. If it does start growing (which it sounds like it has) it will start growing a new skeleton.

on fragging bubble corals, I remember reading a page somebody made about specifically fraggin bubbles.

From the GARF website

According to the article, it takes a little more time to do because you have to wait for the polyp to separate on it's own. Don't know if anybody's tried it. Good luck!
