I know the answer is yes. The real question is how? I'm thinking of purchasing a tank from the Dallas area but not sure how I would get it here. Getting it loaded into the trailer may be the biggest issue. I don't mind the drive. Do you think it would be possible to pay a maint svs to meet me, load it and send me on my way. Tank has already been broken down.

Would rather skip the Dallas trip but I've been looking for a 7x2x2.5H or a 8x2x2.5H tank here in H-town with no luck. My other thank broke and I started looking just as 2 sold (because I'm lucky like that)

Anyway, how did you handle the move?

Once you get there get some day laborers to help.

Are you buying from an individual or LFS?

I did.
Left Houston at 5am got in Dallas at 9am loaded the tank up and drove back.
Tank was on it's stand at 2:30pm.
I had it in one of my 8' longbed trucks and I covered it up with plywood that before hand I had cut and took with me.

I would get a UHAUL to protect the tank. Trailers are not very safe especially long distance.

Out of curiosity, for those that have moved tanks before, did you experience any swings in the reef chemistry? I'll be moving later this year and have never moved an sps tank before.

I'd feel more safe with a Uhaul also. Maybe ask the person you are buying it from to contact the DFW reef club for help? I'm sure like us, there are members willing to help on their end. Once you get to Houston I'm sure there will be MARSHians willing to give a hand.
