I was browsing on Reef2reef and noticed Kuansreef is selling some zoas that I am interested in. Let me know, thanks. Sorry, too lazy to join another forum.

Well there is also a MontroseReef on R2R that is buying zoa's and what not and asking about a calcium reactor. I know he has one so seems likely to me. Maybe he is using 2 accounts. The MontroseReef has a location of TX. The kuansreef has Texas City listed as the location (not that anyone can't fib about location...).

SPS loose flesh from base and noone knows why? as an example I know he was having some issues with SPS when I bought a couple of chalice frags from him.

I just messaged him asking about some stuff he may have, first thing he did before answering was stating he only shipped. Even though I'm 5 min away from texas city. If you look at his posts you will see him selling the WWC Hologram, same as on here. Something kinda fishy about this guy.

Kevin is a cool guy. Recently bought some stuff from him and all zoas are doing well. Actually need to pickup some from him sometime this weekend. He is holding some for me.

So it is Montrosereef? I have bought a few things from him before and would buy more but he keeps auctioning them off now and I don't want to buy 8-10 different zoas at a time. Was hoping to find someone else in town that had what I was looking for. Guess I can wait till Tracey starts fragging her zoas.

:pop2: I'm still confused? Are MontroseReef and Kuansreef over R2R both Kevin?
Steve, Kuan is my gf and is taken. You can date me if you want. :) I don't smile for nothing.

Zoa's are a big deal lately on R2R, it's a rage, kinda like beanie babies years back.
You buy high dollar zoa's, one or two polys and when you can finally frag them they are dropped in price a lot.
And what ppl do is they sell zoa's that were running for $60 or more per polyp for about $10 or even less.
No market in a year for them anymore.

Being new to the hobby its hard to understand why some zoas cost a fortune and then others are cheap. Take fruit loops for example, I think they are the brightest most colorful zoas I have seen and they are only around 10-15pp. Not sure why people pay 150pp for ones that aren't as bright. Also doing some research you see the prices high and then fall, then someone changes the name and the price sky rockets again. Personally I am ok with paying up to 20pp for ones that catch my eye. I don't even keep track of the names because I could care less. Looks like I just need to wait a little while for the prices to come down so I can get the ones I want. Red hornets keep falling in price and hopefully I can pick up some soon.

i personally think zoas are a scam, but to each their own. it takes no skill or effort to raise zoas, only time. water quality doesn't need to be good, only angels eat them, in most cases they hold their color quite well.

once upon a time monti caps had value (idaho grape for $50?), until everyone realized how easy it was to propagate monticaps and their value plummeted to what we see today (almost any monticap is ~$15). I still love the way monticaps look, but market price will eventually figure itself out.
