Anyone run GFO in a canister filter? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking about running GFO in my canister filters instead of investing in a media reactor. I have a Fluval 305 and 405. Figured I would start by putting the GFO at the bottom in a large media bag making sure it has room to move around. Flow should be ok. Anyone have suggestions?

I would invest in a few reactors. One for GFO and Carbon. You need to be able to see the media tumbling to avoid grinding it up. You need a very minimal tumble. Just enough to move the media. Reactors are more efficient too.

You can just T off ur return line and eliminate noisy feed pumps. The cost for just reactors isn't too bad when you exclude buying feed pumps.

This is saltwater not freshwater.

Ur not using tap water and conditioner are you?

You are a sucker for a buying a reactor. No tumbling required...lots of SPS lovers use it in the sump passively (using filter bag/canister filter okay as long as you clean filter on time).
