I stumbled across this thread on RC. I know some of you have seen this tank, and these are some great pictures. Man this is what this hobby is all about!!

I thought that was Jim Norris' tank...but I guess it is some other reefer from MAAST

I saw (in person) a sps tank of a friend in Woodland that is just as colorful if not better - it's amazing to see those tanks!

This is Jim Norris's tank. He brought me frags of most of these acropora before Christmas.

The specs. given told it for sure. The XM's mixed with 20k and 2 10k.

The new FAMA magazine had an ad in it for the XM metal halide bulbs, which mentioned Jim Norris's tank.

That's the tank of MAAST's very own Vice-President, Mr. Jim Norris alright.

It gets better and better every time I see it, and I mean that literally!

Jim is who twisted my arm to switch to the XM's. It only took me from the time Jim was over here for that July meeting til January to do it.

On the Hellolights website Jim is mentioned. He is about as good a commercial for the XM bulbs as anyone they could have.

Did you go with the 20K or the 10K, XM's?

Hi...I went with the 10k's definitely. The 20k's are too blue for me and I needed to have the PAR the 10k's put out. Jim is lucky in that with his size tank he could mix the 2 to get a sweet rendition of color over his tank.

fishcraze, I got to see that sps tank in the Woodlands that you mentioned today. I've known Twinspot since the year 2000. He is as nice as they come and I got to go today to see his tank.

Awesome doesn't even come close.
