When I got back from Galveston my wife told me my 2yr old was messing with the tank doors but didn't do anything so checked anyway and didn't see anything wrong except for my Refractometer was inside my return area but that's all I saw last night then just now when my lights come on I see my box of baking soda inside my sump this morning in back of the skimmer, empty all gone, everything looks ok, fish and coral and haven't run water test.

What do you guys think will happen or should I not worry as nothing has gone wrong since last night with at least 3/4 of the box in the tank?

I would assume if everything is fine so far it should be ok. An alk spike would seem to have an immediate effect. Good luck

A quick water change wouldn't hurt. I think you would see an immediate problem if there was going to be one.

I'm not so sure about the immediate problems. Myson decided to do a manual dose in the 125 using the controller a couple of months back. Long story short he fell asleep in his recliner and when he stumbled to the bed. I came over for coffee the next morning and found the controller screen not on run. After a few quick checks I realized. the ph was a little high 8.5 (1ml/min dosers) but the alk was 13.5. The tank went from everything doing real well to all kinds of problems and no growth. Very little tip burn (SPS dominant) but I think it crashed either the bacteria or something else Nitrates went through the roof and a massive cyano bloom about 2 weeks later. What did you alk check out at after the event?
