Oh my God, I just had the Spa-Flex tubing blow out of the PVC fitting that led from the return pump to the return in the tank. Holy moly.

I know alot of you use Spa-Flex tubing. Obviously PVC glue does not do well bonding Spa-Flex to slip PVC fittings. What does??

Strange, I've used SpaFlex extensively with standard fittings and standard PVC cement. There's supposed to be a special cement or else use the thicker PVC cement (blue can I think).

Oh yeah, by the way, is there a trick to getting quick-disconnect fittings to not leak, that doesn't involve silicone?

So aquarium life is still sucking at your house. Did you get a saltwater shower before you got the pump turned off?

The streak of bad luck is almost over when you laugh as you discover a catastrophe. So giggle. It'll end quicker. :bomb:

by quick disconnect do you mean john guest fittings? If so all you should have to do is push the tubing into the fitting as far as it will go. If it still leaks try cutting the tubing back an inch or so and try again. If it still leaks then the fitting might be fubar.

The biggest headache with spa flex is the residue where it is cut. This is a fine dust that balls up all the PVC cement. The primer helps clean all of that off and also softens up the PVC to make the glue work better. I actually had to wipe mine off really well with a clean cloth before the primer to keep it from leaking.
