thats what I thought to... it's fine, the water tests are good... I think you have to do smaller changes more often, to keep a better balance.

the coral is fine, it only attacks fish... and have to wait 2 weeks before getting new fish... but it is in all tanks, and has something to do with stress, so when fish are stressed, they attract it I guess. I just did about 10g friday, and am going to do another 10 next weekend.., where are the b/w clowns? All my water parameters were good... I have heard a lot of people saying garlic should be part of your feeding, that helps a bit.. and I was talking to Felix the other day, and he says he gets it all the time when he gets new fish... just its under control. So from what angelique says about yours.. who knows, did she get some pictures?
wait! no, not all the time, just with tangs. and i said they get it all the time, especially the blue hippo, but this mostly happens when you get juveniles. I never got ick with any of my other fishes. i have an engineer goby, and 2 false percs from my first tank build, all in the same tank with my hippo, they survived his ich attack.

if you get the black and whites, please read up on them before buying.
nothing wrong with them, but you need to make sure your tank is the right temp, and ph. also if you get juvis, watch for jumping and them getting caught in the overflow, both happened to me.

LOL
Felix, you have to be careful with what you say to Carlos he will hold you to it.

Carlos, another thing I was thinking that may have not helped with the ich attack was your tank temperature, i am not sure what you were keeping it at but I noticed it was quite a bit warmer than mine when i brought my brain over that time. I think i read on here somewhere that the warmer the water the easier it was for the ich to spread? who knows, i may be wrong but it might be worth looking into for the next batch of fish.

Yeah my chiller is set at 78 +/- 3 degrees and i keep my temp probe on the return of the sump just upstream from the chiller output. I am in the process of trying to find some heaters as i think they may be needed this coming winte, i figure 2X300 watts should do the trick?

why would you need a heater, what temp do you keep your house at in the winter... you have no idea how much heat them lights place into your water.. I'll bet the lowest it would ever get in the water, all winter is 75...

update pics

Ok been really busy but also added a bunch of stuff to the tank, So here are some updated pics of my setup outside as well as my corals and fish, It was kind of funny, usually you are following the fish around to get their pic but mine wouldn't get out of the way, they thought it might be feeding time.

He had to go he was nipping the Brain, I guess it was a rookie mistake as the LFS said that he was reef safe, we tried to catch him but "luckily" he passed away, would have rather caught him, but i think the stress from the chase may have had something to do with it. fortunately he has been one of the few fatalities i know some guys that have lost all their fish ;)

Thanks, I really hadn't planned to have so many fish yet, but the Chromis make up the majority of them. I am kinda second guessing them now because they don't really school like they did when I first put them in there.

Yeah that is pretty much what we said after it was all set up it looked a whole lot smaller in the showroom. We have gotten used to it though and it is gradually starting to get some stuff in it. Thanks for the nod on the plumbing, my wife would have a fit every time i drilled a new hole, but in the end water changes are a breeze, even easier than they were on my 29 Bio cube, no more lugging buckets of water;).

one, the chromis will kill each other untill there is one male and all females. I would have went with a school of anthias instead.

2: the linckia will die, sorry to say that, but they really have a low survival rate, although some have kept them for a few years. I think mine died due to heat in the tank, not sure.

all in all, looking good. i will get over there one weekend to take good pics for you, and you should ask angelique to buy you an slr for your birthday this year.

p.s.! go outside and cover your plumbing before you freeze everything.

Man your just full of good news :), the chromis came as part of the package i got from Hong, then Angelique saw them scooling so we had to get 5 more and yes they are gradually disapearing but its ok since they really arn't schooling any more and that was all i liked about them. we will see what happens with the star, he is pretty much the dare devil of the tank and been all over everything, we were wondering how he was getting around so fast and found that he was base jumping off the top of the glass. I have an older SLR sony digital with a Karl zeiss lens just don't know what i am doing i am sure if i got it set up right it would take some nice pics, Yeah i need to do something with the plumbing also but figure salt water has a lower freezing temp so i should be ok plus i am running the pump to keep it all moving.

are you talking about the f828 or the f717.
I had the f828 and loved that camera, working on getting it back. it has macro also. and manual settings with an excellent glass.
