blue spot jawfish? (1 Viewer)

i just got a blue spot jawfish, anyone have any advice or tips they can give me about keeping one?

Enough of a sand bed for him to build his burrow. Pretty much that same as any jawfish. The blue spots are such awesome fish!!!!!!!!

I believe these fish also have a reputation as "jumpers".

yea ive been keeping a keen eye on if he is in the tank or not.

he has already moved to 3 different burrows i had to move all my frags on the sand bed

yeah I saw that same beautiful fish at Aquarium World. However 99 bucks for fish is a bit much, IMO.

I've been looking for a jawfish for a while. Not a popular item among LFSes. WHere did you get it and how much?

i think Global still has one. you guys better race over there i think its the last one.

i dont know how much my blue spot jawfish was, cause my mom got it for me for Christmas.

but i can put 2 and 2 together because her Dental Office is right near Global and Global is the only place i knew that had em.

man mine has made moved burrows 3 times. is this normal?

first when he got in my tank he made a burrow under my biggest rock. then he moved to another spot on the right side and made a huge burrow and then now he moved to the center.

yea thats what i assumed as well. ive been able to find him everyday but this morning i dont see him in the burrow he made yesterday.

i hope i can locate him before i go to work or ill worry about it all day

I also picked one up from Global last week. I was in there on Sunday and they had one more. Mine has been running around making burrows in different areas of the tank. Spends some time in one, poking his head out and looking at us. When we move to the other side of the tank, he switches to the other major burrow to watch us on that side of the tank. It's a very cool fish.

oh no i havent seen my blue spot the whole day!

i looked in his regular burrow but no pretty blue spotted head looking back at me.

i did feed him a lot the first 2 days, maybe hes too fat and decided to sleep?

i looked all around my tank and dont see him, so i dont think he could have jumped out. also i didnt see any fish really bother him and all that is in my tank currently is a cleaner wrasse, 4 green chromis, and a flameback angel


anyone got any ideas?

i found my blue spot jawfish in my filter bag, whew good thing i found him fast.

sorry didnt see all the first page. Online that price is pretty close. Although the price on wholesale lists has dropped below $30.
