I have a small 11 gallon tank right now that is full of bristle worms..... how do i get rid of these guys and what caused them to grow?

where there is food life will flourish.... dont know how to get rid of them though. we recently removed out DSB and now they have migrated into the rocks... cant go in the tank without a few spines now
:(

I wouldn't worry about them. They multiply like crazy when there is a bunch of extra food for them to eat. If there is less food for them to eat they will slowly start to disappear. They are good though to help keep the extra food cleaned up out of the tank and they help clean up any dead things in your tank.

they came out of the rockwork probably. if you're really bent on getting them out, you can buy a trap for too much $ or make your own. there're plenty of instructions out there on the net on how to do it. a couple LFS I visited (B&B and planet fish) don't sell them just because they're so simple to make. Toni at pfish suggested a glass coke bottle in your tank with a bit of brine shrimp at the bottom. angle the neck of the bottle so the lip is on the rockwork where you think the worms are. they'll climb in but not out supposedly.

hmm... actually, not sure how well this would work in an 11 gallon. maybe a test tube then?
