Is there a point when you can have toooo many bristleworms in a tank? Everytime I feed my 12G nano these guys come out of the woodworks...or rockworks I guess you could say. There are tons of them in the 12G and I'm just wondering if there comes a point where there are too many for one space.

Thanks for any information.

Worm

Find you a tube with a screw top, maybe about 1"or 2" in diameter about, with your tank long enough, but short enough to lay on bottom. Then when you get tub. punch holes in it. About like a 1/64 to a 1/32 size, like ice pick size.
Buy you some store bought shrimp, and put in side with a pc of live rock that will weigh it down. So will lay on the bottom. Make sure you screw cap on. And in the morning their will be tons of them in there. Now these guys will sting you, so don't touch them, just wash tube out. And repeat. I've caught hundreds in a week. Some up to a foot long 12". Enough of them will kill everything that just lays around. Sting them first then eat them.

Thanks for the information...didn't know that they would sting you. Looks like I need to build a trap and get some of these guys out of my tank. I already have some that would run atleast 6"-8" that come out of the larger rocks.

Hi, Hanson.
Can you have too many bristleworms? Yes, but only to the extent that it detracts from the appearance of your tank. I don't know of any detrimental effect they might have to the corals or fish. The number you have is strictly related to the amount of food available.

I have no idea how many I have in my 140, I'm sure hundreds...

Good luck,
Steve
