I had a massive outbreak of Bubble Algae in my BC14 so I started doing massive water changes at lower salinity. Either the lack of nutrients or the lower salinity started destroying the algae. Here is an example of the results.

I learned the hard way that lower salinity will at least retard Bubble algae growth. While i was away on my honeymoon the ATO tank filled to the point that it syphoned into my sump overflowing it and driving my salinity way down. When i started bringing the salinity back up it came back with a vengence though i am having a hair algae outbreak now too so there is probably some nutrient problems.

I know for me when my nutrients get too low in my macro tank I'll lose the big bubble algae bubbles. The little ones don't seem very fazed though lol.

I've always wanted a fox face. If they eat bubble algae I will have to get one. I bought two emeralds and they worked on it a bit but after two weeks they disappeared. For some reason crabs and snails ( except nassarius) have a short lifespan in my tank

Did y'all check out the video? I think it is pretty cool how the green matter detached from the bubble wall. I would get a Foxface if that was the cure. But it is only a BC14. I also noticed that the sand is pretty polluted. It is the very fine sand. I may remove it all.

Yeah, but what is the penalty from the Tang Police for putting a Naso in a BC14?

Did the bubble just detach once your nutrients went down? I have one massive bubble that needs to go...

When I had valonia, the foxface would eat only the small bubbles that he could get to. He would not try to break open a large bubble.

Just FYI, I went through a cycle of AlgaeFix to try to control red turf algae. It didn't work on the red turf, but it totally eliminated the valonia.

TnT said they had a Foxface, but when I went there it was way to big for a BC14.
